Dr. Maheshwari’s research focuses on advancing chemo-free, phytochemical-based cancer therapeutics by integrating nanotechnology, photoresponsive systems, and green synthesis approaches. Through high-impact publications in Nanomedicine (London), Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology, and Journal of Herbal Medicine, I have contributed to establishing herbal phenolics and plant-derived systems as scientifically robust alternatives or adjuncts to conventional chemotherapy.
A key thrust of her work is the development of photoresponsive and laser-empowered phytotherapeutic formulations, particularly for hard-to-treat malignancies such as triple-negative breast cancer, enabling spatially controlled, minimally toxic anticancer interventions. Complementing this, my research on metallic nanoparticles synthesized via green routes critically addresses tumor microenvironment interactions, therapeutic efficacy, and toxicity considerations, bridging efficacy with translational safety.
Collectively, her contributions highlight the untapped potential of plant-based bioactives in next-generation oncology, positioning phytotherapy-driven nanomedicine as a sustainable, patient-friendly, and mechanistically sound strategy. Moving forward, her research aims to expand these platforms toward immunomodulatory and precision-guided cancer therapies, strengthening the scientific foundation for chemo-free oncology solutions.
